In preparation for the University's 50th anniversary in 2015, University of Kent, United Kingdom has established an additional 100 doctoral scholarships to be awarded annually from 2012. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding research potential. Scholarships will be offered at the standard UK Research Councils' rate.

King's Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Centre (KISS-DTC) is awarding a number of ESRC-funded postgraduate research studentships to support doctoral research and training in the social sciences at King's.

The University of Manchester is offering a range of awards for PhD research in September 2012 to which candidates working on topics in Linguistics and English Language are eligible to apply.

The three main awards, Which comprise a fee-bursary and a maintenance grant, are ESRC studentships in Linguistics, an AHRC studentship in Linguistics or English Language, and the University-funded President's Doctoral Scholar Awards. In addition, the School Of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures will offer a number of PhD fee bursaries.

University Doctoral Studentships City provides a number of fully-funded, full-time, three-year Doctoral Studentships to outstanding candidates as part of its ongoing investment in academic excellence.

Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN) are providing funding for 16 Research Assistant positions throughout Europe. As part of this, the Centre for Immunology and Infection at the University of York are looking to recruit three Research Assistants to investigate stromal cell – immune cell interactions.

London School of Economics, United Kingdom offers two Central European MSc Scholarships in 2012 for applicant from the listed country above (see Target). Candidates can be intending to study on any taught master's programme at London School of Economics.

The Julius Nyerere Scholarship was set up in 2009 and give to Tazmanian students who want to study in University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. The three Scholarships are awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit, with candidates requiring a Bachelors degree equivalent to a UK First Class Honours ('First') or Upper Division/Upper Second Class Honours ('2:1') degree.

The Open Society Foundations / University of Nottingham scholarships aim to provide opportunities for independent postgraduate study in the United Kingdom for students who have demonstrated both academic excellence and the potential to become leaders, decision makers, and opinion formers in their own country.

Centre for Cognitive Aging and Cognitive Epidemiology, University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom offers two 1+3 MSc/PhD studentships for each year of the Centre. One will be based in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) and one in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (MVM).
