International Scholarships

School of Life and Health Sciences is pleased to announce Scholarship Scheme for international students who apply for 2009/10 academic year. Scholarships are of £1,250 in value to help with the cost of tuition fees and are available for any of the following undergraduate programmes:

• BSc Biomedical Sciences
• BSc Biology
• MPharm Pharmacy

The Melbourne Law School has a faculty agreement with the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. Under that agreement, Melbourne and Oxford jointly fund an annual scholarship providing £5,000 for a Melbourne University Law graduate to study for the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at Oxford.

[Cambridge University, UK, will offer, via the Cambridge Trusts, at least 40 Cambridge International Scholarships to Overseas Students who embark on a research course in 2009-10. The awards will be made on a competitive basis to those applicants considered by their departments to be the most outstanding.

Value of the award

The University of Edinburgh Undergraduate Bursaries - Over 180 scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students in British schools or colleges in Britain who have financial difficulties in access to the place of admission to the University of Edinburgh.

The Roux Scholarship is undoubtedly considered the ultimate British competition for chefs. We are - quite justifiably - immensely proud of our past Roux Scholars, many of whom have won great accolades. We have an established and enviable framework for encouraging talent and young chefs to achieve their full potential.

The University of Edinburgh Sichuan Province Master's Scholarship: Following the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, the University will offer two Master's scholarships for students from the Sichuan Province undertaking an eligible postgraduate Master's degree programme offered by the University of Edinburgh.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees and will be tenable for one academic session.

Taught Masters Scholarships The University of Nottingham in partnership with Developing Countries of the Commonwealth (outside Africa and India)

The Developing Solutions Scholarship Fund will reach out to those students who have the potential to make a real difference to the development and prosperity of their home countries.

Wingate Scholarships are awarded to individuals of great potential or proven excellence who need financial support to undertake pioneering or original work of intellectual, scientific, artistic, social or environmental value, and to outstandingly talented musicians for advanced training.

Professor Graeme Clark is the Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Melbourne. It is the pioneering work of his university department that led to the first multi-channel research implant "bionic ear" being "switched on" in 1978 and the first Nucleus implant in 1982.
