The SeQuOIAS (Service and QUality Oriented Information Systems) group of Prof. Carlo Batini at University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy) seeks applications for a post-doctoral position on Pervasive and Augmented Services for Cultural Heritage, starting in March 2011.

The position is financially supported by Lombardy Region, University of Milano-Bicocca and IBM Italy Foundation.

The Software Behaviour Analysis (SBA) research group at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada is seeking applications for a post-doctoral position in Software Security with an emphasis on "Tracing Techniques for Anomaly Detection in a Redundant and Diverse Environment", starting February 2011.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on a large collaborative project involving industry, government, and other research institutions.

Giessen University's International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC), funded by the German federal government's Excellence Initiative, offers a three-year structured PhD-programme in the study of culture.

The GCSC offers up to 9 PhD scholarships and 1 postdoctoral scholarship.

PhD scholarships include a monthly stipend of approximately €1.100 and are offered for one year with the possibility of two extensions, each of a year. The postdoctoral scholarship, with a monthly stipend of about €1.500, is limited to two years.

Incoming post-doctoral fellowships of the Académie universitaire Louvain (AUL) are offered to scientists from all nationalities in order to strengthen the bilateral S&T collaborations as well as the realisation of the European Research Area.

They are assigned to researchers with a PhD degree (or equivalent), proving their expertise and research capacity by a personal scientific record. The researchers must not have spent more than 24 months out of the last 3 years in Belgium.

The program is open to candidates from two different categories of countries that determine certain aspects of the program. Therefore you must first find out which category that could be relevant for you.

Candidates coming from countries on the Development Assistance Committee list of recipients of Official Development Assistance, the so-called ODA recipients.

A two years postdoctoral position is available in the group of Francois Rassendren at the Institute Functional Genomics in Montpellier, France. Thegroup is interested in the involvement of P2X purinergic receptors in inflammation at cellular and integrated levels.

Eligibility

    The Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies at Harvard University offers several postdoctoral fellowships in Japanese studies to recent PhDs of exceptional promise, to give them the opportunity to turn their dissertation into publishable manuscripts.

    Eligibility:
    Applicants must have received their PhD degree in 2006 or later, in Japanese studies in any area of the humanities or social sciences. Those who are chosen to receive fellowships must have completed all requirements for the PhD degree by July 1, 2011.
