AAMN Foundation and Johnson & Johnson's Campaign for Nursing's Future are partnered to offer this scholarship campaign for male students pursuing professional nursing education. Established in 2004, these scholarships are intended to supports male students who are seeking a pre-RN licensure or graduate degree in nursing.
Applicants must submit an application and all supporting documentation. The more complete your application, the stronger consideration your application will receive.
Applicants must already be enrolled (not just accepted) at an accredited institution. Send your completed application and supporting documents to:

Who Qualifies:
Male students currently enrolled in an accredited pre-RN licensure or graduate degree program in nursing.
GPA: 2.75 (minimum)
Award Amount: $1,000.00 and a complimentary one-year membership in AAMN.
Number of Recipients by category: 20 scholarships will be awarded. Of these, 16 will be awarded to pre-RN licensure applicants, 4 will be awarded to applicants seeking a graduate degree in nursing and of the 20 scholarships, 4 will be awarded to minority students (defined as having at least 50% blood quantum racial minority or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity).
Award Duration: 1 year
Deadline: 1 April 2009
Award Determination: Awardees will be determined by a committee selected by the AAMN Foundation Board. Stronger GPAs and earlier submission dates will receive favor by the selection committee.
Other Requirements:
Submission of an official transcript.
One letter of recommendation from a clinical nursing instructor.
Answer in a total of 250-300 words the following:
Why do you want to be a nurse?
How might you contribute to the nursing profession as a nurse?
What are your current career plans?
Winners will be announced within 30 days following the deadline. Monies will be awarded within 30 days of announcement.

Application Process and Checklist (Deadline: 1 April 2009)
To apply for the AAMN Foundation/Johnson & Johnson Nursing Scholarship, you MUST provide the following documents:
- Complete a student application (including your complete resume).
- One copy of an official transcript must be submitted from the institution in which the applicant is currently enrolled. For a transcript to be considered official, it must be sent directly from the institution registrar's office. Failure to disclose all course work and/or degrees will result in the scholarship disqualification.
- One letter of recommendation from a clinical nursing instructor.
