The International Federation of University Women (IFUW) offers a limited number of international fellowships and grants to women graduates for postgraduate research, study and training. IFUW's 2011/2012 competition is now open. The fellowships and grants offered are for research, study and training to be carried out between 1 April 2011 to 31 December 2012.
Who can apply?
- IFUW fellowships and grants are open only to women graduates who are members of IFUW's national federations and associations and to IFUW Independent Members.
- Students in any branch of learning may apply.
- Fellowships are offered for the second and subsequent years of a doctoral programme and for post-doctoral studies. First year doctoral students do not qualify.
- Grants are offered for any postgraduate programme.
- The awards may be used in any country other than the one in which the applicant was educated or habitually resides.
Deadline
- Members of IFUW's national federations and associations must apply through their national headquarters. The deadline varies by country, but normally falls beween August and mid-September 2010. Please ask your national headquarters for the exact deadline.
- IFUW Independent Members must apply through IFUW Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The deadline is 1 October 2010.
Selection Criteria
- Motivation for research, study or training
- Originality and feasibility of proposed plan of research,study or training
- Extent to which the specialized knowledge and skills to be acquired will benefit women and girls
- Extent to which the specialized knowledge and skills to be acquired will further the applicant’s career
- Planned work or activity after completion of the research, study or training

Can I Apply for IFUW Grant being Male
I am a development worker, working on primary education with an INGO as a Senor Education Officer in earthquake effected districts of Pakistan. I also belong to same region which badly effected by earthquake 2005.
I am scholarship seeking candidate and keenly searching for scholarship. I had secured place on Master program (Master in International Education and Development)offering by University of Sussex-UK (October 2010 to September 2011. University is offered me 3000 pound scholarship and rest of 7475 pounds (out of total 10474 pounds) I am required to submit for tuition fee only. Accommodation and other expenses I will arrange from my own source, or family support, but total cost of study is impossible to pay by me.
Can IFUW will grant me 7475 pounds rather 10000 CHF? Please help me in my endeavor for advance studies which is dire need of my region to work on primary education and impart quality education to poor masses.
