2009 Scholarships ATSI Scholarship–Bachelor of Applied Social Science
ACAP ATSI Scholarships aim to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from low socio-economic backgrounds and regional and remote areas, with costs associated with higher education. The ATSI Scholarship is awarded for study in the Bachelor of Applied Social Science degree.
The scholarship awardee will receive each alternate module at no cost (ie. pay for one module and receive the next for free, pay for the next etc.). This is valued at approximately $16,000 over the duration of the Bachelor of Applied Social Science.
How to apply
Applicants for the The ATSI Scholarship for the Bachelor of Applied Social Science will need to submit the following:
(a) An application letter outlining personal circumstances.
(b) Strong statement of commitment to completing the qualification & intention regarding use of qualification.
(c) Demonstrated leadership and/or significant contribution to the ATSI community.
(d) A resume. The successful Scholar will need to commence their studies within 6 months of being granted the Scholarship and studies must be completed within 8 years and must maintain a minimum Credit Grade Point Average. The study mode available is flexible to suit the student.

Selection guidelines
- ACAP will award each scholarship and the selection will be made from the applications put forward on the application form. The applicant needs to be capable and committed to taking up the scholarship.
- General preference for the ATSI Scholarship will be given to those students who have some experience in the relevant discipline area. These students will need to submit an essay in support of their application (as per 'How to apply').
- The scholarship is for course fees only. The successful scholarship student will need to pay any other administrative penalty fees that may arise.
- Textbooks and readings for the course are not included in the scholarship.
- The scholarship is non-transferable and remains available to be taken up for 6 months after the offer date.
- ACAP reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship for any of the following reasons: - poor performance, poor attendance, misconduct or for any other activity which ACAP considers to be unbecoming behaviour of an ACAP student. See Student Misconduct Policy.
- Students who are awarded a Scholarship will be asked to provide permission that their names can be used for marketing purposes.
- Applicants must be over the age of eighteen years.
- The decision of the scholarship committee will be final.

I am a Ugandan aged 21 years old, I completed my High school last year (2008) and I got 19 points with a D2 in General paper. The one who was paying my school fees died and now i am stuck.I would like to request for the opprtunity to study social science at ATSI. I will be grateful for any feedback.

Hi I am a romanin student in Holland, my highschool education I did in the best highschool of architecture from Rome, and now I m having the dutch courses in TUdelft and I ve been allready accepted to the university of architecture in Delft and fom september I have to start. I m looking for a companie that can help me with a scholarship not a big amoungt at least somthing so I can pay my books and transportation. Thank you!
