Rationale:

Building on our recent success in RAE 2008 (65% World Leading/Internationally Excellent research), the Centre for Research in Media and Cultural Studies invites applications for five fully-funded PhD research studentships. Applicants should be suitably qualified and motivated to undertake a full-time programme of research leading to a PhD.

The Swiss Benevolent Society awards scholarships and grants on the basis of need and merit for education above the high school level. Since the inception of the various scholarships and grants, their assistance has made a tremendous difference in the lives of many Swiss-Americans and their families.

The academic year starts on September 1, 2009. The scholarship is for a period of two years (Master's period), plus two additional years (PhD period) for students who are accepted on the PhD program. The amount of each stipend is 1,000 euro/month, and tuition fees will be waived.

ALL for APPLICATION 2009/2010

In 2007, the Department of Economics and the Department of Environmental Sciences of the Universit Ca' Foscari of Venice, in collaboration with the Euro-Mediterranean Center for Climate Change (CMCC), have launched a 3-year PhD Programme in Science and Management of Climate Change.

Two studentships are available for study of metal-transporting membrane proteins in Prof. Tony Wedd's laboratory at the Bio21 Institute and School of Chemistry, University of Melbourne. The proteins are produced via cell-free expression and the aim is to understand their function at the molecular level. The projects involve close collaboration with Prof.

There is one PhD scholarship (1/2 TVL E13, research position) funded by the newly-built Courant Research Center 'Poverty, Inequality and Growth in Developing Countries' at the University of Goettingen, Germany. This center is mainly focusing on the broad issues in developing and transition economies.
